What if I provide training to staff members and they LEAVE?

Updated: Sep 14, 2022

As an employer, the real question to ask yourself is - "What if I don’t train my staff and they STAY?"

Health and Safety at Work Act requires every employer to provide information, instruction, training and supervision necessary to ensure, "so far as is reasonably practicable", the health and safety at work of their employees and others affected by their activities.

When a workplace incident occurs, one of the first things to be looked at is competency. Can you say that your staff are competent? Basic health and safety training can improve workplace morale amongst staff and increase profits.

By investing in staff training, employees will feel valued and take a greater sense of pride in their workplace creating forward momentum for your business.

Believe it or not, good workplace health and safety can increase profits. When a workplace accident takes place there are DIRECT costs to your business (compensation, legal fees, workplace/equipment repairs, fines, increased insurance premiums) and INDIRECT cost (time spent on accident investigation, reduced workforce numbers to complete task, loss of production, training, drop in motivation and trust amongst staff, damage to company reputation).

The HSE estimate that for every £1 recovered by insured costs, between £8 - £36 is lost to uninsured costs.

Thankfully, there are simple and straight forward ways to raise awareness within your workplace to reduce the risk of workplace accidents and keep your business compliant.

We have a wide range of affordable, online, video based training to suit your business needs with certificates provided upon completion.
